Easter and a Sprained Ankle

Hey all! These last two weeks have been great but just a little bit slower than normal. My companion sprained his ankle two weeks ago and it's still bothering him. So we're still taking it easy here while still trying to get some good work done until my companion is able to get his ankle figured out. But we've still been able to find a lot of people to teach and help lots of people learn more about Jesus Christ! It was also especially awesome to have Easter and to be able to talk to people about the true purpose of Easter and about the atoning sacrifice of Christ.  I also got some exciting news this week! I found out that three people that I had taught in my last area who were on date for baptism were finally baptized this last week! It is so wonderful to know that this is the Lord's work, and even though I wasn't there for their baptism, while I was there teaching them, I could see how the gospel was bringing so many blessings to their lives. And it is just o...

General Conference

Hey All! These last two weeks have been pretty great! We have been working really hard to help the people we are teaching to progress. Things have been pretty good, but one difficulty that we've had here is that in being a poorer area, people are very very busy. A lot of people have to work 2 jobs to be able to provide for their families and so even the people who have a lot of interest in learning more about the gospel don't have time for us to visit very often. So we have a lot of people who are very slowly progressing. But we're doing our best to find the people who really have the desire to come unto Christ and to help them achieve that goal! We also did our best this last week to explain to everyone that we are teaching about general conference and invite them all to watch. I absolutely loved all of the sessions of conference and I loved to focus on the simple but powerful truths taught by the Savior! It was really a great reminder of the many ways that we can contin...

Transfers!

Hey all!!! It's been a super long time since I've written an email, so I've got a lot to talk about! First things first, last transfer was my last transfer in the office, so I was training a new financial secretary! His name is Elder Hilton and it was super fun to work with him and train him! After I had started training him (and had a little more "free" time in the office) I started taking care of housing as well because our mission doesn't have a housing secretary. So that kept me super busy, but wasn't too bad. Like always we stayed super busy!  We also had the amazing opportunity to have Neil L Anderson visit our mission and give a devotional! He talked a lot about preparing ourselves for life and becoming truly converted to the Lord. He talked about how the scriptures can make that conversion possible. He asked people what their favorite scriptures were and then asked them if they really truly believed in what the scripture taught. He said that when...

Feliz Natal!

Hey all! It's been a while since I've sent an email so I must apologize. Things (like always) have been super busy here in the office. Especially with Christmas and getting everything ready for the Christmas zone conferences, end of the year budgeting and just all of the other craziness of the end of the year. But things are going great! This year our Zone Christmas Conference was pretty short, but a lot of fun. A lot of it was musical performances by the missionaries, and I was able to play Hark Ye Herald Angels Sing which was super fun! Our district also sang a hymn so in preparation we all bought matching ties. And not to brag but our district was definitely the best prepared group. Our Christmas lunch was super amazing! It was literally a feast and there were so many wonderful options that I didn't even know where to start. We also took a mission picture... except that the whole mission wasn't there... so we took a bunch of pictures with our ...

World Cup!

Hey all!! It's been a little while since I wrote (yet again), but things are going great here! We have been just as busy as ever, here in the office, working in our area... and just about everything else. So let me try and remember the last few weeks so I can give you a good update!  First off, office work! This transfer only has 5 weeks (so that the missionaries who are leaving this transfer get to go home before Christmas), but that means we're trying to do 6 weeks of work in only 5 weeks! Even President Crane commented that it has been difficult getting all of the zone conferences and other meetings all scheduled in only 5 weeks. So we have been rushing to get everything done! And when I say "everything" that includes opening two more apartments before new missionaries show up. So yesterday we went shopping... But not like any normal shopping trip... Yesterday I bought 2 refrigerators, 2 washing machines, 2  microwaves, etc. Let's just say that we spent a t...

Christmas is coming!

Hey all!! Sorry that it's been a few weeks since I've written! Things are still going really great here. We had transfers here this week, and surprise surprise, I am going to be staying here in the office for at least another few transfers lol. But transfers meant that we have spent the last few weeks getting everything ready for 6 missionaries to head home and then 13 new missionaries to get here! It's always super exciting to be with the new missionaries who are so excited to participate in this wonderful work.  Oh, and today we put up the Christmas tree here in the office, so it's starting to feel like Christmas time! We have been working with a few new families recently, and like always, even though sometimes the progress is slow, it is so incredible to be able to be a tiny part of the change that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into the lives of these people, and each and every one of us.  And I just wanted to share how impressed I've been in my studies of ...

Transfers, Shopping spree, Baptism...

Hey all!! It's been a few weeks since I've written so sorry for that! But things have been going pretty great here in Brazil!  In the last few weeks we've had transfers. I am still here working in the offices - suprise suprise! But it's been pretty busy trying to get everything done! We had 12 new missionaries show up and I think 6 who headed home, so just getting those logistics worked out was crazy. Not to add the fact that the rest of the mission also had transfers. But that craziness has passed and things are a little more chill In the office. Now we're just trying to get things ready for another group of 12 to show up here in 3 weeks... so we really never catch a break lol. And things are going great in our area as well! We had Ysabelle's baptism since I last wrote! And today Juliana and Nena are also going to be baptized! We have been seeing so many miracles with Juliana and her family! One day we had plans to head to a pretty distant part of our area. B...
