Christmas is coming!
Hey all!!
Sorry that it's been a few weeks since I've written! Things are still going really great here. We had transfers here this week, and surprise surprise, I am going to be staying here in the office for at least another few transfers lol. But transfers meant that we have spent the last few weeks getting everything ready for 6 missionaries to head home and then 13 new missionaries to get here! It's always super exciting to be with the new missionaries who are so excited to participate in this wonderful work.
Oh, and today we put up the Christmas tree here in the office, so it's starting to feel like Christmas time!
We have been working with a few new families recently, and like always, even though sometimes the progress is slow, it is so incredible to be able to be a tiny part of the change that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into the lives of these people, and each and every one of us.
And I just wanted to share how impressed I've been in my studies of the scriptures recently of the power that comes into our lives as we make and keep covenants with God. It has been amazing to ponder a little about the covenants that God made with the house of Israel, and to be able to see how just like those covenants, our own personal covenants are what bound us to God and what give us access to his blessings. I am so grateful to have had the chance to make sacred baptismal covenants, and to continue each day learning about the importance of those covenants. I invite each of you to ponder a little bit about your own baptismal covenants and how you can better understand them or fulfill them. And then I invite you to act on the promptings that will come from the Spirit as you ponder these things! And if you haven't yet had the chance to make covenants with God through baptism, I invite you to consider the blessings that would come by making these covenants. And then I invite you to do everything possible to prepare to make these covenants!
Have a great week! Até mais!
