The End of 2021

Hello y'all! I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and is getting ready for a very happy new year! Especially all of you with snow... please be extra grateful for that this year cuz I'm really missing snow with my 90-degree weather with 90 percent humidity haha.  But this last week was good. It was a little slow in terms of missionary work. A lot of our lessons fell through just because so many people had plans change for the Christmas season, and we're expecting a little bit of the same thing this week with New Years, but the work goes on! We're hoping to be able to find a lot more people this week in our efforts to help people come to understand the joy of the gospel.  About Christmas... Christmas eve, we worked like normal. We ended up going through our long list of people who might be interested and trying to call them and share a message and set up a lesson. I will admit, quite a few people hung up as soon as they heard the word missio...

Americans Working Miracles in Brazil

Hey all!! First of all, I can't believe Christmas is this week! But I know that every other missionary is going to be titling their email something about Christmas so I decided to change things up a bit. Plus, I am finally here with my new companion, so we're hoping that we really can work miracles as a couple of Americans walking around Brazil.  This week was really great though, and I am finally in my area again with Elder Miner! The majority of this week, I was still with the Elders in Ibura. We worked a lot in Ibura and tried our best to work online in Lagoa as well, but it's just a tad bit hard to find people when you're not in your area. It ended up working out really well though because my district leader got permission to do a mini exchange with me after district council this week, so for one day I was in my area with him. We tried to visit a bunch of people who were being taught before, but let's just say the records in this area are pretty unorganized. Bu...

Many New Companions

Hello all! I want to start this email by saying, this week was pretty crazy, but really great! Tuesday was transfers so on Monday I packed up my stuff and got ready to head to a new area. On Tuesday morning I went to the mission offices to meet up with Elder Fleming who was my companion until Friday when new missionaries arrived.  It was also very interesting to be in Lagoa because when we showed up there was absolutely no food in the entire apartment. So some of our first meals got a little creative until we got settled. Being with him was a lot of fun, but it was definitely interesting to be trying to get to know my new area in Lago Encantada and to try to work online in his area. But I have met a lot of great members so far and have started to find some great people to teach. Then Friday came along and we headed back to the mission offices to meet our new companions who had just arrived. But... my new companion didn't show up. I don't know the whole story, but I think due...

Transfers!

Hey all! Sorry that I wasn't able to send out an email last week. We tried to cramp too many things into one p-day and it just didn't end up happening. But the last two weeks have been sooo eventful! First off, in the last two weeks we have had 3 baptisms!! I had one baptism the beginning of my first transfer, but these ones seemed a little more exciting because they were people that we found and taught not other missionaries. But that's not the important part. The important thing is that we were able to help 3 amazing youth receive the wonderful blessing of baptism and start in the wonderful journey of the gospel. Yudi and Lucas, who I have talked about before, were baptized last week. It is amazing to see their progress in such a short time especially as we have helped them to start using the church's youth program to set goals.  Then this week we were able to baptize Reinan! He is a wonderful little boy who always comes to church with a member across the street. He...
