Stake Conference and Old Friends

Image
Hey all!! This last week was pretty good. We had another couple of families that we stopped teaching which is always super sad, but we have a big long list of people to start teaching which is great! This week we had Stake Conference which aside from being a really great spiritual experience, gave me the chance to talk to a lot of members from my first area which is part of thus stake. I was able to talk to a lot of them and surprise them with my Portuguese that has improved dramatically in the last 4.5 months. And I saw Yudi, one of the people I helped to baptize in my first area! Which as you return missionaries know, it brings the most amazing feeling ever to know that the people you helped teach are still strong in the gospel! In talking to them all, I was also reminded just how long I have been in Brazil lol. It is fun to think back on my first area and how much I dreamed about the day when I would be able to speak fluently. And I can honestly say that that day has come! Thi...

Transfers . . . Again

Hey all!!  I didn't write last week, but the last two weeks have been pretty great and full of change.  First off, this last week we had another transfer! We have been teaching her for a really long time and finally we were able to help her make that special decision to follow the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. Yesterday, we also had the chance to participate in a Temple and Family History fireside which was a great way to help some of our recent converts start getting ready to go to the Temple for the first time. And I'm super ...

Heyyyy all!! First off, I hope you guys all had a great week and that you were all able to watch General Conference and learn a little bit more from our beloved prophet and the other inspired leaders that God has called! I think my favorite part was the talk that Presidente Nelson gave and the idea that we can make daily repentance a habit. But first... why do we need daily repentance? What is the gospel of Jesus Christ... the word gospel means 'good news'. What is the good news? That through the atoning sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ, we can become perfected... or in other words, that we can change. That every day we can be a little bit better. This change is called repentance. So what is daily repentance? Becoming a little better today than we were yesterday. And secondly, why is it important that we make it a habit? We know that were not perfect, we know that every day we will need to change, to repent. And what is a habit? It is the moment when we are able to do som...
