Arabic and Egyptians

 Heyyyy all!!

First off, I hope you guys all had a great week and that you were all able to watch General Conference and learn a little bit more from our beloved prophet and the other inspired leaders that God has called! I think my favorite part was the talk that Presidente Nelson gave and the idea that we can make daily repentance a habit. But first... why do we need daily repentance? What is the gospel of Jesus Christ... the word gospel means 'good news'. What is the good news? That through the atoning sacrifice of our Savior Jesus Christ, we can become perfected... or in other words, that we can change. That every day we can be a little bit better. This change is called repentance. So what is daily repentance? Becoming a little better today than we were yesterday. And secondly, why is it important that we make it a habit? We know that were not perfect, we know that every day we will need to change, to repent. And what is a habit? It is the moment when we are able to do something so well that we hardly have to think about it. So if we make change or repentance a habit, every day we will become a little better. And we will find joy and confidence in knowing that through our small acts of daily repentance, in a year from now, the changes will be drastic! We will have the joy in knowing that no matter the obstacles, we can overcome, and become not just the best version of ourselves that WE can imagine, but the best version GOD can imagine. And I am positive that God has much more planned for each of us than we have planned for ourselves.

Now, you are probably all wondering why in the world I titled this email, Arabic and Egyptians when I am serving a mission in Brazil teaching Brazilians in Portuguese Well... this week, with the help of a recent convert, we met an Egyptian who is living here in Brazil! Cool right?!? Here's the crazy part... he doesn't speak Portuguese. He has only been here 4 months and hasn't picked up the language quite yet. So while teaching him the gospel in English, we have also dedicated some time every day to teach him Portuguese. And miraculously, through the help of a member with a Book of Mormon collection, we were able to find him a Book of Mormon in Arabic!

In other news, this week was pretty normal. We have a couple of new families that we are working with and hopefully some people who are going to be baptized soon. This next week also wraps up another transfer which I'm hoping doesn't bring too many changes. But I guess you guys will have to be patient like me and wait until next week to find out.

I am really loving Brazil and the special chance I have to be here to help Gods children. I am grateful for General Conference and our living prophet. And i am grateful for good friendships and relationships that help me to become a better disciple of Christ!

Have a fantastic week everyone! And if you send me an email during the week to remind me to take more pictures... my future self and my mom will thank you a ton lol.

Até mais!!
