World Cup!
Hey all!!
It's been a little while since I wrote (yet again), but things are going great here! We have been just as busy as ever, here in the office, working in our area... and just about everything else. So let me try and remember the last few weeks so I can give you a good update!
First off, office work! This transfer only has 5 weeks (so that the missionaries who are leaving this transfer get to go home before Christmas), but that means we're trying to do 6 weeks of work in only 5 weeks! Even President Crane commented that it has been difficult getting all of the zone conferences and other meetings all scheduled in only 5 weeks. So we have been rushing to get everything done! And when I say "everything" that includes opening two more apartments before new missionaries show up. So yesterday we went shopping... But not like any normal shopping trip... Yesterday I bought 2 refrigerators, 2 washing machines, 2 microwaves, etc. Let's just say that we spent a ton of money lol.
World Cup! Here in Brazil, the area presidency wrote a letter to all the mission presidents saying that the missionaries shouldn't watch the World Cup games. So we were all kind of sad to hear that. But even though we can't watch, being here in Brazil during the Cup is a crazy experience. During Brazil's games, everything closes, and everyone watches. And if there is a goal, literally the whole city (and probably country) erupts in cheers. And everyone sets off fireworks! So we kind of know exactly what's happening even without watching. Plus everyone ends up putting the highlights of the games on WhatsApp, and after the games we end up seeing the best moments. It's definitely a little different than in the USA.
Our area! These last few weeks, we have had tons of miracles working in our area. We have two new families who are both incredible who we have started teaching! They were both media referrals, and are both super interested in learning more! We have been able to have some awesome lessons with members, and now our focus is helping them come to church! We like always, we are always doing our best to find new people to teach!
So in all, things are going super great! I cannot believe that it is already December! I am super excited to be able to help as many people as possible feel the true Christmas spirit!
I hope you all have a fantastic week!
