When One Door Closes, Another One Opens

 Hello all!!


This week was really great but definitely had its ups and downs. Probably the best example would be the people we had to stop teaching because of a lack of progress or desire. Its always really hard to make the decision to stop teaching someone, especially because its easy to think that there is something more that I could do to help them. But in the end, sometimes we need to give up something good for something better. And that's exactly what happened this week. 

We had an amazing lesson with the mother of a recent convert. She is super interested and loved going to church. I'm super excited to keep teaching her! We also meat this amazing old man who already knows basically everything. (I think he has a lot of family who are members) We just have to work with him and help him start coming to church. And at the weekly soccer activity at the chapel, we met a kid who knows a ton about the bible and who is super curious about the church, so were excited to start working with him too.

I'm very grateful that the Lord has blessed us with these people to teach even though for some others, now isn't the right timing for them.

In other news... I don't have much other news lol. This week was full of lots of good work, so much so that I didn't have time for much else. We did buy pizza one day which was great lol. 

And I am still working on how i can sound more like a Brazilian when I'm speaking lol. Though, if you ask my companion, every day i go through the 'circle of life'. I wake up and until my brain gets going my Portuguese is a little rough. Then by the time the day gets going I'm great!! Until about 8 or 8:30 when i am just so tired that i forget how to conjugate verbs and everything gets interesting haha.

But things are going really well here. I'm loving this area and definitely cannot believe that another two weeks is another transfer. But with some luck, ill stay here with Elder Lima! And I'm sooooo excited for General Conference!! One of my favorite things to teach is about prophets, so I'm definitely excited for the fact that i get to listen to our living Prophet and the other inspired leaders of this church! I am already ready for Saturday and Sunday!

Transfers!

  Hey all!!! It's been a super long time since I've written an email, so I've got a lot to talk about! First things first, last transfer was my last transfer in the office, so I was training a new financial secretary! His name is Elder Hilton and it was super fun to work with him and train him! After I had started training him (and had a little more "free" time in the office) I started taking care of housing as well because our mission doesn't have a housing secretary. Feliz Natal!

 Hey all! It's been a while since I've sent an email so I must apologize. Things (like always) have been super busy here in the office. Especially with Christmas and getting everything ready for the Christmas zone conferences, end of the year budgeting and just all of the other craziness of the end of the year. But things are going great! This year our Zone Christmas Conference was pretty short, but a lot of fun. A lot of it was musical performances by the missionaries, and I was able to play Hark Ye Herald Angels Sing which was super fun! Our district also sang a hymn so in preparation we all bought matching ties. And not to brag but our district was definitely the best prepared group. Our Christmas lunch was super amazing! It was literally a feast and there were so many wonderful options that I didn't even know where to start. Christmas is coming!

  Hey all!! Sorry that it's been a few weeks since I've written! Things are still going really great here. We had transfers here this week, and surprise surprise, I am going to be staying here in the office for at least another few transfers lol. But transfers meant that we have spent the last few weeks getting everything ready for 6 missionaries to head home and then 13 new missionaries to get here! It's always super exciting to be with the new missionaries who are so excited to participate in this wonderful work.  Oh, and today we put up the Christmas tree here in the office, so it's starting to feel like Christmas time!
