Let's Get Down To Business

 Hello Y'all!


Like you guys have probably heard from all of the other missionaries out there, Christmas and New Years normally means less people to teach. It was definitely the same here. Especially because the flue/cold is going around here pretty strong. Almost all of this week we heard a lot of “I'm visiting family” or “I'm busy with family” or “my whole family is sick” and we weren't able to teach that many lessons. But we were still able to talk to lots of people and do our best to keep the work going.

Then New Years Eve we had an exchange and Elder Azevedo came back to my area with me. It ended up being a pretty normal day. We visited a couple of people and were able to teach a lady named Edina who is really awesome. Unfortunately everywhere was closed so that messed up our plans to buy burgers for the new year. But we made some food at home that pretty much sums up my day. Then new years day after studies and lunch with a member like normal we finished up exchanges and “got down to business.” 

All day Saturday and then Sunday after church we were able to head out with a really awesome member and start visiting tons of families. Our goal right now in this mission is to work more with families who have some people who aren't members. We hope to help bring families closer with the power of the gospel and hopefully help some families work towards being sealed in the temple! And it definitely felt good to have the opportunity to really work hard and feel like we were using all of our time to bless the lives of others. 

These last two days really give me a lot of hope for the coming week and I think that with new years over we will be able to teach more. I am also super excited because this week we will have a Mission Tour where some people from the Area Presidency here will visit and we will have a big zone conference with them. 

In other news, I'm still eating too much sugar from all of the things I got from Christmas, but I'm starting to run out which could be a good thing or a bad thing lol. 

I don't have that much more for y'all this week. Just remember to always remember (yes i just said remember to remember... I promise I can still sorta speak English) to be grateful for everything and to share that gratitude with God. Remember that God sent his son for you! That you can always turn to the Lord, no matter the circumstance. And remember as you are setting new year's resolutions this year to follow our Prophets counsel to “resolve to resolve to strengthen your spiritual foundation, resolve to be kind to others, resolve to be resolute.” (You can find the whole quote on Facebook or wherever else President Nelson posts.)

Transfers!

  Hey all!!! It's been a super long time since I've written an email, so I've got a lot to talk about! First things first, last transfer was my last transfer in the office, so I was training a new financial secretary! His name is Elder Hilton and it was super fun to work with him and train him! After I had started training him (and had a little more "free" time in the office) I started taking care of housing as well because our mission doesn't have a housing secretary. So that kept me super busy, but wasn't too bad. Like always we stayed super busy!  We also had the amazing opportunity to have Neil L Anderson visit our mission and give a devotional! Feliz Natal!

 Hey all! It's been a while since I've sent an email so I must apologize. Things (like always) have been super busy here in the office. Especially with Christmas and getting everything ready for the Christmas zone conferences, end of the year budgeting and just all of the other craziness of the end of the year. But things are going great! This year our Zone Christmas Conference was pretty short, but a lot of fun. A lot of it was musical performances by the missionaries, and I was able to play Hark Ye Herald Angels Sing which was super fun! Our district also sang a hymn so in preparation we all bought matching ties. And not to brag but our district was definitely the best prepared group. Our Christmas lunch was super amazing! It was literally a feast and there were so many wonderful options that I didn't even know where to start. Christmas is coming!

  Hey all!! Sorry that it's been a few weeks since I've written! Things are still going really great here. We had transfers here this week, and surprise surprise, I am going to be staying here in the office for at least another few transfers lol. But transfers meant that we have spent the last few weeks getting everything ready for 6 missionaries to head home and then 13 new missionaries to get here! It's always super exciting to be with the new missionaries who are so excited to participate in this wonderful work.  Oh, and today we put up the Christmas tree here in the office, so it's starting to feel like Christmas time! We have been working with a few new families recently, and like always, even though sometimes the progress is slow, it is so incredible to be able to be a tiny part of the change that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into the lives of these people, and each and every one of us.  And I just wanted to share how impressed I've been in my studies of ...
