Apostles! and 1 Transfer Done

 Hey all!

This week was pretty normal in terms of missionary work. But the definite highlight was a devotional we had with an Apostle, Ulisses Soares! Unfortunately, this devotional was actually on zoom, so I didn't get to meet home or anything, but it was really awesome still. This devotional actually included every missionary in Brazil, which is also kind of cool.

Elder Soares is from Brazil so he was especially excited to be speaking to his people. Just like everything else here it was all in Portuguese (I know weird right), but I actually understood almost everything! I still don't understand most people, but I guess an Apostle brings the Spirit so strong that the gift of tongues just worked a little extra hard for me that day haha.

But I really did love his thoughts. His talk was focused on doing the little things. Studying the scriptures every day, praying every day, going to church and so forth. Certainly not what I would have chosen to talk about if I was talking to missionaries, but it was certainly an inspired topic. He talked about how the small things fortify and strengthen our testimony and faith. The little things we do focus us on Christ and help to keep us centered on the path we need to be on.

I know this is true, and I have seen firsthand the power that comes when I study the scriptures and pray daily! And I am so grateful for this opportunity in my life to make it even more of a habit.

I don't have much else to talk about this week. Things are really great here and slowly but surely I am learning Portuguese.

This week was the last week of this transfer. Nothing is changing for me and I'll still be with Elder Souza in the same area, but it's crazy to think that 6 weeks is already over just like that!

Thank you to everyone who writes and responds to my emails. I normally don't have time to respond but I love hearing about how things are going back home!

I hope you're all doing well! I know that Christ knows and cares about each and every one of you and we can all feel his love if we reach out to him.

I send my best from Brazil,
Elder Hill
